For the highest quality use "Negative film" - Shoot 5 or more rolls and have transfered to mini-DV all at once. Most transfer packages have a minimum 1/2 hour rate so doing one roll is costly! Then capture the DV into your computer and edit. Output to BETA for broadcast quality. (Note negative film can not be projected and is only used for transfer to DV)

Softer. More pastel. But still picking up all the detail you want to capture in the scene.

For projection prints, the recommended exposure gives a good balance between blacks and shadow detail. Overexpose it a bit and maintain the shadow detail, but the blacks get blacker
